I have a unique set of background and experiences that I rely on for my current job. I'm a little bit of a unicorn out there, I've spent some time on an equities desk. I've spent some time in field leadership, I spent some time in the managed money world. And I really take all of that, and I try to apply it into my decision making process to help our clients and my team.
Well, the word team it's very important to me. I do want to try to foster a team environment, so I'm out there in the community trying to find people to represent the J.P. Morgan Private Bank in a way that's consistent with how I feel that they should. The last thing that I want to be is perceived as a micromanager or spend my day standing over people's shoulders. So I hire talented people, I enable them and empower them to do the things that they do and really be there to help coach and guide and make sure that our clients and our bankers are leveraging the J.P Morgan platform.
I was lucky enough to grow up in the area up here, grew up on Long Island out in Dix Hills. Decided to spend my college years down in Florida, University of Florida. Always knew I wanted a career in wealth management, moved back up to New York City after I graduated and I've been in wealth management ever since. I was single living in New York City for many years but got lucky, met the wonderful woman of my dreams and now I'm raising a family in Westchester.
So building a diverse team is really important to me. I'd like my team to be representative of the community that we service and my hope is that the country is in a different place when my children are entering the workforce than it is now. But I'm really going to try to do my part to make sure that it is.
I have always felt that our clients are best served by having a diverse point of view. The last thing that I would want to surround myself with is just like minded individuals who are parroting exactly what I say. Challenge is a core value of mine. I want to surround myself with smart people who are comfortable enough to challenge me at a point in time and I've always felt when you have all these diverse point of views entering into your decision making process, it leads to a better client experience, and a better client outcome.
J.P. Morgan Private Bank is a special place, it has a special culture. We have trust and estates attorneys, we have lending specialists, we have people who focus on real estate, people who focus on entrepreneurs. And I would just say, everybody's on that team, everybody's rowing in the same direction, and everybody's marching orders are really to help our clients out in the community. So it's not just two or three people. And if you take it one step further, I could go outside of these four walls and all of the J.P. Morgan Private Bank is essentially your team.
And I have a lot of different goals as the team lead for Westchester County at the J.P. Morgan Private Bank.
